How Long Should a Laptop Last? Signs It Needs a Repair or Replacement
A laptop should usually remain useful for four to six years, although a well-built business or premium model can serve for seven years or more with sensible maintenance. Some inexpensive laptops feel limited after three years because their memory, storage, cooling, display, or software support leaves little room for heavier work. Do not replace a laptop only because a new model exists, and do not keep repairing it only because it still turns on. Define the work it must do, identify what is actually failing, price the full repair, and count the supported years likely to remain. That gives a far clearer answer than a generic expiry date.
