Refurbished Laptop Inspection Kit: Free Workbook and Printable Field Sheets

Downloads / Resource 02 / Version 1.0

A refurbished laptop inspection is more useful when each result has a record. This original TechReviewz kit gives you 25 stable check IDs, a status for each result and a separate fault log for seller follow-up. It is designed to accompany the first-48-hours test plan.

Start with the deadline and the exact machine.

Enter the model or seller reference and the actual return deadline. Read the seller’s instructions, including any notification or shipping deadline, rather than assuming every purchase carries the same return period. Keep the invoice and those instructions with your own private records.

Compare the delivered configuration with the listing before spending time on cosmetic details. The checklist starts with ownership release, management restrictions, identity and return terms. It then covers condition, battery, charging, display, inputs, connections, normal workloads and the essential applications you use.

Keep unchecked work visible.

Each check starts as Not checked. Choose Pass when you have observed the expected outcome, Fail when a requirement is not met, or N/A when the feature is absent or irrelevant. Explain N/A in the evidence field. The count at the top shows what remains unchecked and how many checks failed or passed.

A large number of passes does not cancel a failed ownership-release or essential-workflow check. The workbook deliberately avoids an invented percentage score. Read the actual failures and unresolved items before accepting the machine.

Turn a symptom into a repeatable issue.

In Issue log, copy the stable check ID and describe the symptom. Add the steps that reproduce it, a private evidence reference, the date the seller was contacted, the current status and the agreed next action. Use Open, Sent to seller, Resolved or Returned to distinguish what has happened.

This is an example of documentation, not a reported fault or a universal display test. Keep personal filenames, account details and other sensitive information out of public support screenshots.

Stop when a physical concern changes the task.

Swelling, smoke, visible electrical damage or unusual heat requires appropriate service guidance. Do not dismantle a device solely to complete a checklist. The workbook cannot certify electrical safety, remaining hardware life or a seller’s legal obligations.

Save a copy before filling it in. Yellow cells are editable, while status counts are calculated. Use the first two printable pages if you prefer handwriting. Find the companion ownership and migration resources on the Downloads shelf, or report a correction using the check ID.
